Five years ago, we set
out to create a retailer-first eCommerce
platform to serve the needs of the industry. We
believed retailers should be able to build their
own loyal customer bases, and deploy
high-performing eCommerce experiences without
relying on middle-men marketplaces.
Along
the way, we’ve worked with retailers nationwide,
shipped countless innovations, and facilitated
over $2.4 billion in online orders. We’re proud
of the product we’ve built and the team we’ve
assembled, and are grateful for the community of
ambitious retailers we’ve worked with throughout
our journey that made Olla so special.
Olla’s story ends here.
Many challenges in the world of cannabis remain
unsolved, and we’ve failed to establish a viable
business model. Simply put - the costs
associated with providing this product to our
customers outweighed the price the market was
willing to bear.
We have come to the difficult decision to
shut down our operations.
As of today, it is no longer
possible to sign up for Olla, and in exactly 30
days,
on April 1, 2023, Olla’s services will no
longer be available.
We know there will be lots of
questions regarding next steps. We have
addressed the most impactful below, and will
work to support our customers during this
transition phase.
Thank you for your loyalty, trust, and
support throughout the years - it has meant
the world to us. It has been a privilege
serving you, and we wish you the best in
your continued success in this beautiful
industry.

Simply put, we were unable to establish an
economically viable business model without
relying on significant investment capital to
subsidize the cost required to sustain
Olla’s product. For reference, the price we
were able to garner at the outset of
operations was more than 3.5x greater than
the price the market was willing to bear in
recent years.
Olla facilitated
over $2.4 billion in online orders for our
customers, while earning less than $10
million in revenue throughout our lifecycle.
The current state of both regulations, and
the economic health of the industry,
presented major challenges for our business
to sustain itself without resorting to
revenue-generating tactics that went against
our core mission.
As of April 1, 2023, you will no longer have access to the Olla platform and associated data. The last day of service will be March 31, 2023.
We suggest you establish service with an alternative eCommerce provider as soon as you’re able to. We recommend contacting your Point of Sale provider directly for a list of approved eCommerce integrators. Additionally, we encourage you to export all customer order data via your Olla Dashboard immediately.
You will need to take action to export any data from the Analytics page of the Olla Dashboard by March 31, 2023. Contact support directly if you have any questions.
All Olla services will be terminated, no further customer payments will be accepted, and your data will be inaccessible for export.
